polyester pe filter bag size 2 with steel ring

PE Filter bag:

The PE filter bag — a polyester filter bag made from needle-punched polyester felt — is the standard choice for filtering paints, coatings, oils and coolants where a PP bag would be marginal.
Polyester holds its shape at higher temperatures, has excellent tensile strength, and gives predictable particle capture across the full micron range we supply.

Micron Ratings: from 0.5 to 400 Micron:

We supply the PE filter bag in the grades you are most likely to search for: a pe filter bag 5 micron for fine polishing, 10 micron and 25 micron bags for general paint and coating filtration, a 100 micron pe filter bag for coarse straining, and everything in between up to 400 micron.
Fine grades protect spray nozzles and pumps; coarse grades take the bulk load off a finer bag downstream.
Not sure which rating you need? Send us the particle size you must remove and we will match it.

Higher Temperature Than PP:

The main reason buyers choose a high temperature polyester filter bag over polypropylene is temperature: PE bags operate continuously up to about 150°C, while PP bags are limited to roughly 90–100°C.
That difference matters in hot oil filtration, warm coating lines and processes where the liquid is pumped straight from a heated tank.

Where PE Filter Bags Are Used:

A pe filter bag for paint and coatings is the classic application: 25–100 micron bags remove pigment agglomerates and gels before spraying.
Other common duties include oil filtration (hydraulic and quenching oils, edible oil polishing), coolant filtration in machining centres, resin and adhesive filtration, and pre-filtration ahead of cartridge or membrane systems.
Polyester is also used for water filtration where higher temperature or better tensile strength is required than PP can offer.

Chemical Compatibility, in Plain Terms:

Polyester filter bag chemical compatibility is good against most solvents, oils, weak acids and oxidising agents, and it is not affected by water — which is why PE bags handle water-based paints and coolants well. The clear exceptions are strong alkalis (caustic soda) and ammonia, which attack polyester. If your liquid is alkaline or you are filtering plating baths, choose a polypropylene or nylon bag instead and we will advise on the rating.
